Scarce WW2 German Kriegsmarine Helmet in 22nd April Auction
16th April 2015
A scarce German Kriegsmarine (Navy) M35 helmet is offered in our 22nd April medal and militaria auction with an estimate of £500.
The M35 ET62 helmet is complete with 2 decals and liner, "ET62" stamped at the side, and batch no "3655" stamped at the rear with "2" below it, also "1937" acceptance date stamp in dome, liner size "55", with tricolor decal and Kriegsmarine layered decal. Decals are 95% complete with odd light scratch, some loss of paint on top of helmet but retaining 70% original dark green paint. A very good example, never before offered on the market, and said by the vendor to have been picked by his father, from the sinking of the "Bismark" whilst serving in the Royal Navy.
