Warwick and Warwick’s 22nd January 2025 Toys, Postcards and Cigarette Cards Auction.

The year's first sale was fantastic and hugely successful with many interesting lots throughout. There was truly something for every collector!

The cigarette card section included a Cope part set in plastic sleeves with 1900 Cope's Golfers, No 46 reprint with additional No 14, No 18, No 19 and No 42 genuine and 3 duplicate reprints, generally good. This lot 37 our highest-selling lot and the star of the show sold for an incredible £3,800.

Our Postcard section featured a fascinating range of British and foreign topographical cards. The highlights are ranges of Bradford with lots 104, 105 and 106 including good ranges of shop fronts, street scenes, and cinemas among many other views. Lot 104 sold for £3,500, lot 105 sold for £1,350 and lot 106 sold for £1,600, all excellent results.

    

We had a very popular toy lot with plenty of interest. Lot 146 included a collection of vintage games including TPS Mechanical Bear Playing Ball, Circus parade, Clown Making Lion Jump all operational, Sutcliffe Model Unda-Wunda Diving Submarine plus Mighty Atom Patrol car, Moon Space Ship and some soldiers generally very good to excellent. This lot sold for an amazing £1,250.

   

Moving on to soldiers, our Timpo range sold exceedingly well with lot 206 selling for £775, 207 selling for £750, lot 211 selling for £875 etc.

Our Die Cast section had many mixed and individual items, including lot 342, which was a Corgi  GS40 The Avengers contains John Steed's vintage Bentley - red, black, wire wheels with John Steed figure and umbrella, Emma Peel's Lotus Elan S2 - white body, black interior, spun hubs with Emma Peel figure. This lot sold for £150.

Our Model Railways section is always very popular with the different gauges receiving strong interest. One highlight was lot 497 from KTM Scale Models. An O gauge USRA 0-8-0 'Black Canyon' 415 black locomotive and tender, excellent plus in near excellent box. This lot sold for £230.

Those are a few of the many lots we could have chosen to highlight. The auction was a great success and we hope the year continues in this fashion as we are certain it will.
