Warwick and Warwick’s 20th November Toys, Postcards and Cigarette Cards Auction.

We had a fantastic sale on the 20th with fierce bidding and some spectacular lots!

The Cigarette Card section featured some great cards with lot 19 Clarke’s 1898 Tobacco Leaf Girls. These cards were in very good condition for their age and were the highest selling cigarette card lot. The lot sold for a fantastic £1,350.

The postcards are always some of the top sellers in the auction and this sale was no exception! Lot 40 was a mixed lot boasting around 40,000 cards and sold for £1,800.

Lot 79 was an animal, Arthur Thiele collection and included cats with many sets featuring Heads series 710, A Cats Love series 851, Women With Hats series 896. Diablo series 947, At the School Big Scenes series 962, Paintings series 975 etc. This lot sold for £1,300.

We had a fantastic soldier range that saw plenty of interest online and on the phones. Lot 123 contained a Britains collection with ranges from American Revolution, Collectors club, Napoleonic Wars, War Along the Nile, Zulu War etc. This lot sold for £1,50.

The die cast section saw lot 152, a collection of 1/24 scale including CMC Audi 920, Franklin Mint 1911 Rolls Royce, 1930, 1935 and 1940 Duesenberg J plus ranges of Burago, Hot Wheels, Maisto, Motor Max, Opel, Polistil, Small Wheels, Welly etc, drive away at £1,550.

Saving the best for last, our highest selling lot of the sale was a Model Railways lot, lot 305. This lot comprised various OO gauge locomotives, coaches, wagons, track, accessories and empty item boxes, including manufactured and kitbuilt items. This star of the show sold for £2,600.

Overall, the Toys, Postcards and Cigarette Cards auction was a great success with varied bidding methods and strong bidding throughout.
