Warwick and Warwick’s 18th September Toys, Postcards and Cigarette Cards Auction.

We had a great sale on the 18th with many lots achieving and surpassing their estimates!

The cigarette card section kicked things off with many of our larger mixed lots being sought after by our buyers! Lot 5 was the highest-selling cigarette card lot and sold for £875. Lot 16 boasted 16 boxes of material and sold for £825. Our lone Pokémon lot sold for a fantastic £2,800! Our single set lots also sold very well with lot 48, Cope complete set of Golf Strokes, selling for £230. Lot 50 included Churchman complete set of Famous Golfers and sold for £320.

The postcard section is always very popular, and this sale was no exception. Lot 79 sold for £1,650.

Lot 100 included a Leicestershire collection with villages sorted in alphabetical order, including, Anstey, Ashby de la Zouche, Bagworth, Barlstone, Barton, Blaby, Braunstone, Ellistown colliery, South Leicestershire colliery, Coalville, Glenfield incl station ( slight crease, see photo) Griffydam, Groby, Hugglescote, Ibstock, Loughborough, Lutterworth, Market Bosworth, Markfield, Oadby, Shepshed, Swannington etc.

Our die cast section saw many a bidding war! Lot 170 included tractors with Britains, ERTL, Siku, Universal Hobbies etc. plus range of boxed cars, buses, tractors and trucks.

Lot 174 sold for £900, lot 177 sold for £975 and lot 203 sold for £875.

Lot 254 had absentee bids, watchers and book bids and contained Shackleton "David Brown" Crawler Tractor, unboxed but extremely rare model with only 50 believed to exist, with clockwork operation red tin body with operating levers plus unboxed Gescha West Germany tin plate clockwork tanks (2) and Victory Industries (UK) Vosper RAF Crash Tender.

Our model railways section is always a big hit with the different gauges being equally successful. We had a fantastic G gauge L.G.B section in the sale with many lots pictured in our catalogue.

Lot 277 was No.21423 overhead electric locomotive and sold for £360. Lot 278 sold for £250 and lot 284 sold for £400.

Our OO gauge kit built DJH section sold well with lot 322, Peppercorn A1 Class 4-6-2 BR 60123 'H.A. Ivatt' lined dark blue K30 locomotive and tender selling for £120. Lot 324 was a Peppercorn A1 Class 4-6-2 BR 60130 'Kestrel' lined green K30 locomotive and tender. This lot sold for £240.

Those was just a few of our model railway lots that could have been highlighted.

 

 

Overall, the Toys, Postcards and Cigarette Cards auction was a great success with many different lots on offer to attract buyers.
