Warwick and Warwick Model Railway Auction Report 19th May 2021

The current COVID-19 heath crisis has led many companies to change their practices to bring them into line with the current government safety guidelines. So, for the safety of our customers and our staff, our 19 May 2021 Model Railway sale was a closed-door auction, with no room bidders allowed. There was still plenty of interest in the auction however with a plethora of book bids and a great number of bidders on the telephone.
In the gauge 1 section this Aristocraft Class 66 diesel Locomotive ‘Freightliner’ realised £420.
O gauge models proved popular as ever with this Gateneal kit-built locomotive selling for £204 and this unnamed kit-built ‘City of Exeter’ which sold for £252.
In the OO/ HO gauge section highlights included this Athearn (Genesis) Union Pacific 3985 Challenger which realised £180. This Bachmann National Railway Museum Great Central 506 Butler-Henderson Class locomotive and tender achieved £114 and this Broadway Limited (USA) Union Pacific 7511 GE AC 6000 No. 2000 sold for £108.
There was a lovely selection of Wrenn locomotives offered in the auction. Highlights included this BR 34065 ‘Hurricane’ No. W2275/5P locomotive and tender realised £492 and this BR green Golden Arrow 34053 Sir Keith Park rebuilt Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 locomotive and tender (flags on front) No. W2269 sold for £480.
