The Medals and Militaria section was popular, especially Lot 57, which contained Emerson group with:
Lot 101 included WW2 Japanese Army officer's Shin-Gunto and scabbard, tsuba with lotus blossom to 4 corners, 3 lotus blossom menuki to both sides, rayskin and cloth binding with 1946 Allied Land Forces British Borneo certificate authorising Major W.J. Hickman Indian Army Ordnance Corps to retain one Japanese Sword signed by Commander 32 Indian Infantry Brigade which sold for an impressive £625.
Moving on to our banknotes, lot 237 J.S. Bradbury. 1914 first issue £1 W/28 012199 extremely fine, with Stanley Gibbons sale card sold for £500!
Lot 248 C.P. Mahon. £1 C82 919243 uncirculated sold for a respectable £150!
Moving on to the coin section of the sale, the main spotlight goes to Lot 453. Our highest selling item of the auction overall! 1701 "fine work" five guineas good very fine which sold for a grand total of £17,000!
Our second highest selling item was Lot 714, a 1911 £5 - Maundy proof cased set of 12 FDC which sold for an incredible £12,000!
Lot 455 had some fierce bidding for the 1711 two guineas in PCGS plastic holder graded XF45. Eventually, the hammer dropped on an impressive £5,200.
Our final mention for this sale is Lot 510, an 1847 Gothic crown undecimo nearly extremely fine, sold for £2,400!
Overall, the sale was a great success with much interest and lively bidding throughout.
